Built on the DISC model William Marston published in 1928. Its four behavioral styles combine into 25 personality types, and each type has an interactive report, an AI chat assistant, and its own AI character. See our methodology.
The DISC framework heritage
William Moulton Marston described the DISC model in his 1928 book Emotions of Normal People. WiredType builds its assessment, reports and AI tools on that model.
A Profile You Keep Using
Your profile is an interactive web report with an AI chat assistant, and the site adjusts its examples to your type.
AI-Powered Insights
Your report is interactive. The AI chat can rewrite an email for a coworker's type or help you think through a conflict.
12 Report Sections
The Full profile opens 12 sections on the web, with courses, scenario simulators and practice drills. The free result opens the first section.
Adaptive Experience
After your assessment, the site adjusts its colors, examples and suggestions to your type.
Three Steps to Self-Awareness
You do not need an account. Answer five scenarios, and your result appears on the same page.
Five Scenarios
Read five short situations from work and life. Each one lists four ways people respond.
Rank the Four Responses
Put the four responses in order, from most like you to least like you. Our server turns your rankings into four scores.
Read Your Result
See your DISC type and four scores right away. The free page for your type covers what drives it and how it works with the other types.
For teams at work
Buy a seat for each person on your team. Everyone gets their own Full Profile, and you get a dashboard that shows how the team works together.
If you run HR or the team
You invite people by email or with a CSV file. Your dashboard then shows a map of the team in the four DISC quadrants, how many people have each type, and which pairs balance each other.
For each person on the team
Each person takes the 28-question assessment and gets their Full Profile. Each person decides whether you can download that report, and their answers to the questions stay private.
What it costs
You pay once for each seat, and nothing renews. The first 4 seats are $29.95 each, and the price falls as the team grows, down to $9.95 a seat from the 500th. A team of 12 pays $303.40 in all, about $25.28 a person.
Which One Sounds Like You?
Everyone is a blend of all four types, but one or two usually lead the way.
The Commander
DominanceDirect, results-oriented, and decisive. They take charge, move fast, and focus on the bottom line. They thrive on challenge and competition.
The Inspirer
InfluenceEnthusiastic, optimistic, and collaborative. They light up rooms, make friends fast, and lead with energy and creativity.
The Supporter
SteadinessPatient, reliable, and team-oriented. They build trust through consistency, listen deeply, and create harmony wherever they go.
The Analyst
ConscientiousnessPrecise, systematic, and quality-focused. They dig into data, question assumptions, and hold themselves to the highest standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
DISC is a behavioral assessment framework that measures four dimensions of personality: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. Developed from the work of psychologist William Moulton Marston in the 1920s, DISC helps you understand how you communicate, handle conflict, make decisions, and work with others. It has been used in organizational and leadership development settings for decades. For our methodology and the research we cite, see the Science page.
The free assessment is five short scenarios. In each one you put four responses in order, from most like you to least like you, and our server turns your rankings into four scores and one of 25 types. Five scenarios give a first read. The 28-question assessment asks the same kind of question across work, conflict, stress, change and relationships, and always asks all 28. More answers make the scores steadier.
Your answers go to our server, which scores them. We save the answers, your scores and DISC type, a random session ID, your browser's user-agent string, and the country our host detects from your connection. If you are signed out, that record carries no name or email address, and no account is created. If you ask us to email your result, we also keep that address. We never sell your data. The privacy policy lists everything we store and how long we keep it.
You answer realistic scenarios by ranking four responses, from most like you to least like you, instead of rating adjectives one at a time. Your free result appears on the page as soon as you finish, with no account and no payment. Emailing yourself the result is optional. The 25 types, the interactive report and the AI chat assistant are the other differences.
Yes. Share the link with your team and have everyone take the assessment. Once each person knows their type, you can use the communication tips and "How to Work With Me" guides to improve collaboration. For dedicated team tools that map your whole team's DISC distribution and flag potential friction points, see WiredType for Teams.
DISC was first described by William Moulton Marston in his 1928 book Emotions of Normal People (Jones & Hartley, 2013, American Journal of Business Education). Published research on DISC-style questionnaires differs from one instrument to the next, and WiredType has not published reliability figures for its own assessment. The Science page explains how our scoring works, what it cannot tell you, and the sources we rely on.
