Replaced before it took effect. This is the Refund and Cancellation Policy as published on September 23, 2026 and revised on September 24, 2026, dated to take effect October 8, 2026. A revised version replaced it on September 25, 2026, before it took effect, so it never applied to anyone. The current version is at /refund-policy, and every version is listed on the policy history page.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective October 8, 2026.
We published this version on September 23, 2026 and revised it on September 24, 2026. It takes effect on October 8, 2026. Until then, the previous version applies.
The short version. A report such as Essentials or Full is delivered the moment you pay, so you consent at checkout to immediate delivery. You then have a 7-day guarantee: if you have read only the Overview, the report's first section, and have not downloaded the PDF, click Request a refund on your account page and the refund is made on the spot. One report refund per account. If something in a report is wrong, tell us: we fix it, and where we cannot, we refund it in full or credit it, your choice (section 2). A plan's first charge is refundable within 7 days, a renewal within 48 hours if you have not used the plan since it renewed; otherwise cancel any time and keep access to the end of the period. Purchases made before 7:30 PM US Eastern time on September 17, 2026 keep the longer windows in section 12. If you are in Australia, the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law apply as well, and nothing on this page excludes them (section 13).
1. One-time purchases: the 7-day guarantee
The Essentials report ($19.95), the Full Profile ($29.95), the $10 upgrade from Essentials to Full, and team seats (priced in bands by seat count, with no expiry) are one-time purchases. Team seats have their own rules under Team seats. These rules apply to purchases made at or after 7:30 PM US Eastern time on September 17, 2026. Earlier purchases keep the windows listed in section 12.
Delivery starts when you pay. A report is generated and opened for you the moment your payment goes through. Before you pay, checkout asks you to tick a box that says delivery starts at once and states the conditions of the 7-day guarantee below, including once per account; if you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, ticking it is your express consent to immediate supply of digital content and your acknowledgment that you lose the 14-day right to withdraw once supply begins. The receipt repeats the sentence you ticked.
- Within 7 days of purchase, while you have read only the Overview, the report's first section (your account page lists what you have opened) and have not downloaded its PDF: open your account page, find the purchase under Your purchases, and click Request a refund. The refund is made on the spot, in full.
- Once per account. The guarantee is for the person who bought the wrong thing, so it can be used once per account. A refund we make because something went wrong on our side, or because a report had a defect, does not use it. A refunded account can buy again; a second report refund is outside the guarantee. A request outside the guarantee is still reviewed, with what you used shown, and we reply by email within 24 hours with a fix, credit, a refund, or the reason. A report with something wrong in it is handled under section 2.
- After 7 days, or after you have opened a later section or downloaded the PDF: the 7-day guarantee has ended, a change-of-mind refund is no longer available, and the button is gone; your account page shows why (the date the window closed, or what you opened). Section 2 covers a report with something wrong in it.
- When a report is refunded, the access it opened ends right away, and the AI credits it added are taken back, up to the credits left on your account. If another report you still hold opens the same access, that access stays open.
- We email you a refund receipt the moment the refund is made.
2. Something wrong with a report
The guarantee is for changing your mind. A report with something wrong in it is a different case and has no time limit while you hold the report. Wrong means an error in your report: a section that did not render, a page that is missing or blank, a PDF that will not open, text that describes another type than the one you were scored as, or a scoring result you can show is wrong.
- Email hello@wiredtype.com with the page or section and what you see, or use the feedback button on the report. Your request is reviewed, with what you used shown, and we reply by email within 24 hours with a fix, credit, a refund, or the reason.
- We fix the report where we can, and the fixed edition arrives at no charge. Where we cannot fix it, we refund the purchase in full, or, if you prefer, apply the price as credit toward another edition or a bundle.
- A report that reads as a poor fit for you is a question for the science page and the retake, and for the guarantee in section 1 while it is open; it is not a defect.
3. Monthly subscriptions
- You can cancel at any time from your account page.
- Access continues to the end of the billing period you have paid for. The plan's monthly AI credits end when that period ends. AI credits that did not come from the plan stay on your account.
- Canceling stops future charges. It does not refund the current month on its own. The first charge of a plan can be refunded in full within 7 days of the charge with Request refund in Billing History on your account page. A renewal charge can be refunded within 48 hours of the renewal if you have not used the plan since it renewed (no coach message sent and no credit spent). Either refund ends the plan right away. Outside those windows a charge is not refunded: cancel, and keep access to the end of the period, with no proration. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may also withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of starting it, paying only for the days used.
- Your results and your account stay in place after you cancel, so you can come back at any time.
4. Yearly subscriptions
- The first charge: a full refund within 7 days with Request refund in Billing History. A renewal: a full refund within 48 hours of the renewal if you have not used the plan since it renewed. Either refund ends the plan right away.
- After those windows: no change-of-mind refund and no proration; access continues to the end of the year you paid for. Cancel before the renewal date so the plan does not renew.
5. Team seats (one-time, in bands)
- Inside 14 days of payment, only unassigned seats are refunded (seats with no member and no pending invitation), at the price of the last seat positions you paid for. To refund a seat you have already invited someone to, cancel that invitation first. Open Your purchases on your account page and click Request a refund.
- Accepted seats are not refunded. Your team stays open with the seats it keeps.
- After 14 days of payment, seats are not refunded.
- One payment. Seats do not expire and nothing renews.
The 15-seat team package sold before September 13, 2026 also has no expiry. It keeps the refund rules in the separate section above. A team package paid by invoice before September 13, 2026 keeps its own rules.
6. "I did not expect that charge"
If you see a charge you did not expect, sign in and open your account page. Every purchase and plan charge on your account is listed there with its Stripe receipt, and with a refund button while it is inside its refund window. The rules on this page decide the request the moment you send it. Your card statement shows our charges as WIREDTYPE or WELLERDEVELER.
If you have no WiredType account and do not recognize the charge, your bank can reverse it. If a chargeback is opened on a purchase, the access that charge paid for is removed.
7. Auto-renewal
- We email you a reminder before each renewal charge: 3 days before a monthly renewal, and both 30 days and 7 days before a yearly renewal.
- You can cancel at any time from your account page, without calling or chatting with anyone.
- A renewal charge is refunded in full within 48 hours of the renewal if you have not used the plan since it renewed; the first charge of a plan within 7 days. The refund ends the plan right away.
- The receipt we email after a purchase links to this policy.
8. How to cancel
- Sign in to wiredtype.com, open your account page, and find the Subscription section. Tap Cancel subscription, then Yes, cancel to confirm.
- You can also click Manage billing in the same section and cancel in Stripe's billing portal.
- We email a confirmation with the date your access ends. Until that date, Undo cancellation on your account page keeps the plan going.
9. How to request a refund
- One-time purchases: on your account page, find the purchase under Your purchases and click Request a refund. The page asks for the reason in one line and shows you what you have opened. A report bought within the last 7 days, with only the Overview opened and no PDF downloaded, on an account that has not used the 7-day refund, is refunded on the spot. Otherwise the button is gone and the page shows why (the date the window closed, what you opened, or the earlier refund), and section 2 remains open for a report with something wrong in it.
- Plan charges: open Billing History on the same page and click Request refund next to the charge. A first plan charge from the last 7 days, or a renewal from the last 48 hours with no use since it renewed, is refunded on the spot, and the plan ends right away. Any other charge is not refunded, and the page tells you why.
- Every request is decided by these rules the moment you send it. You see the result on screen, and we email it to you.
- Canceling without a refund keeps your access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Stripe returns approved refunds to the card you paid with. Most banks show them within 5 to 10 business days.
10. Your rights
- To get a copy of your data, use Download my data on your account page. To delete your account, use Delete my account in the same section. Deleting your account does not refund a purchase. If a purchase is still inside its refund window, request the refund on the account page before you delete.
- For how we handle your data, including your rights under GDPR and CCPA, see our Privacy Policy.
- Our full legal terms are in our Terms of Service. This page is written in plain English. If the two ever conflict, the Terms of Service govern.
11. Contact
- Help with billing, refunds, receipts, and canceling: your account page, the help center, or hello@wiredtype.com. Before October 8, 2026, a person at WiredType answers your email: a refund request or a report with something wrong in it within a day, and any other email within 5 business days. From October 8, the WiredType Care Team, our AI support team, answers within 24 hours. Before then, it answers you only if you reply yes to its first email. If you reply person to that first email, or reply stop to any email from the Care Team, a person at WiredType answers you from then on, before and after October 8, until you tell us otherwise. If you ask for a person, the Care Team’s senior agent, which is also an AI, answers first. If you still want a person after that reply, say so, and a person at WiredType answers within 5 business days of your second request. Legal notices go to legal@wiredtype.com.

Any list email we send carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Receipts and account notices do not, because they are about your purchase or your account.
A purchase keeps the refund windows of the policy it was sold under. Every previous version is published, exactly as it read, on the policy history page, with a one-line note of what changed in each.
12. Purchases made before 7:30 PM US Eastern time on September 17, 2026
A report or plan charge bought before 7:30 PM US Eastern time on September 17, 2026 gets these windows, with the same buttons on your account page. Team seats keep the 14-day rule for unassigned seats in section 5, whenever they were bought.
- Reports and other one-time purchases: a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
- Monthly plan charges: a full refund within 30 days of the charge.
- Yearly plan charges: a full refund within 30 days of the charge. From day 31 to day 90, a refund for the unused months, where the month you are in counts as used.
- The 15-seat team package: a full refund within 30 days of payment, whether you paid by card or by invoice. From day 31 to day 90, a refund of half the price, and your team keeps its access with no expiry.
- After those windows: no change-of-mind refund.
- A plan started before September 13, 2026 keeps these windows for its later renewal charges too.
- A refunded plan charge ends the plan right away. A full team refund closes the team and releases its seats.
13. Consumers in Australia
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us, and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
The 7-day guarantee, the plan refunds and the other windows on this page are in addition to those rights. Nothing on this page, including the words "final", "no refund" and "not refunded", excludes, restricts or modifies them.
To make a claim, email hello@wiredtype.com with the purchase and what went wrong. We answer within 30 days. Claiming costs you nothing: we bear any cost of a repair, refund or credit.
Prices are in US dollars. A refund goes back to the card you paid with, in the currency you paid in. If you paid in Australian dollars at checkout, the refund uses the exchange rate of the original payment; if you paid in US dollars, your bank converts the refund at its own rate.
