This version applies until October 22, 2026, when the version published on September 23, 2026 and revised on September 25, September 30, October 1, October 2, October 5, October 11, October 15 and October 20, 2026 takes effect. That version is at /refund-policy, and every version is listed on the policy history page.

Added October 2, 2026. We added one statement to this version on October 2, 2026, when we added the refund of unused credits when you delete your account. It applies from that day. The policy text below this box is the version as published.

Unused credits. Credits you buy never expire, and we charge no fee for credits you have not used. When you delete your account, we refund the credits you bought and have not used to the card or account you paid with, at the price you paid for them, including tax, less any part of that purchase already refunded. When your packs cost different amounts, the credits left are counted from your newest packs. The refund is made before anything is deleted. The delete screen shows the amount before you confirm, and the receipt email repeats it. If you have used some of your bought credits and less than $5 worth is left, we pay you that amount in cash when you ask. To ask, write to hello@wiredtype.com. Credits that came with a report, a plan or a referral are not refunded, because you did not pay for them separately. They work while your account is open and end when you delete it.

Added October 11, 2026. We added two statements to this version on October 11, 2026, when we added the 14-day cancellation of unused AI credits for buyers in the EEA and the UK, and the order window that states the terms once. It applies from that day. The policy text below this box is the version as published.

Before you pay. The order window states when delivery starts and the conditions of the 7-day guarantee, and paying is your agreement to these terms. If you are in the European Economic Area (the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) or the United Kingdom, you also tick a box before you pay. Ticking it is your express consent for us to start supplying your report, or the sections your upgrade adds, at the time the box states, and your acknowledgment that you lose your 14-day right to cancel them once they are delivered.

Unused AI credits in the EEA and the UK. If you bought Essentials, Full or the upgrade from the European Economic Area (the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) or the United Kingdom, you can cancel the AI credits that came with it within 14 days of purchase while they are unused. Half of what you paid is the price of those credits, spread evenly across them: about 10 cents a credit for Essentials, Full and the upgrade at today's prices, about 20 cents for Essentials bought at $19.95, and about 5 cents for an upgrade bought at $10. We refund that amount for each unused credit and remove those credits, and your report stays open. This applies whether or not the 7-day guarantee is still open and whether or not your account has used it; when both apply, you get the larger amount once. Use Request a refund on your account page.

Added October 11, 2026. We added one statement to this version on October 11, 2026, when we added the Essentials price and the difference you pay to upgrade to the Full Profile. It applies from that day. The policy text below this box is the version as published.

From October 11, 2026, a new Essentials report costs $9.95, and the upgrade to the Full Profile costs the difference: $20, or $10 for Essentials bought at $19.95. A purchase made earlier keeps the price you paid.

Added October 12, 2026. We added one statement to this version on October 12, 2026, when we added a PDF to Essentials. It applies from that day. The policy text below this box is the version as published.

Essentials now includes a PDF of the report. For Essentials bought from October 12, 2026, downloading that PDF ends the 7-day refund, as it does for the other reports. You can still read all three sections and keep the refund until you download the PDF. If you bought Essentials before October 12, 2026 and your refund is still open, we ask before your first download, and the refund ends only if you go ahead. Downloading the PDF has no effect on cancelling unused AI credits in the EEA and the UK.

Changed October 15, 2026. On October 15, 2026, WiredType LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company, took over running WiredType. From that day WiredType LLC decides refunds under this policy. Every refund window and right on this page carries over unchanged, and you do not need to do anything. Nothing else in this version changes. The policy text below this box is the version as published.

Postal address. WiredType LLC, PMB 1244, 111 Town Square Place, Suite 1201, Jersey City, NJ 07310, United States.

Changed October 2, 2026. On October 2, 2026, we changed two sentences in the box marked Changed September 30, 2026. If you buy a plan in the last four days of a free month, we now charge you no sooner than four days after you buy it, and we email you at least four days before that first payment. Both changes only add to your rights and apply from October 2. The new sentences are below, and the rest of this page is the version as published.

If you buy Plus or Pro during your free month, we charge nothing until the free month ends. If you buy in its last four days, your first payment is on the date the checkout page shows you, at least four days after you buy.

If you buy a plan during your free month, we email you at least four days before your first payment.

Changed September 30, 2026. On September 30, 2026, we added the paragraphs below to this version, when plan changes and buying a plan during the free month of Plus opened, and the member prices below when they opened. They only add to your rights and apply from that day. Where the text under this box says a refund ends the plan, or that there is no proration, it now reads with these paragraphs. The rest of the page under this box is the version as published.

Changing your plan. You can move between Free, Plus and Pro, monthly or yearly, on any day from your plan page. Before you confirm, the page shows what you pay today, when the change starts, your next payment and its date. A move from Plus to Pro starts at once: you pay the difference for the rest of the period you already paid for, and your renewal date stays the same. If the difference is under 50 cents, it is not charged. A move from Pro to Plus, and a switch between monthly and yearly billing, starts when the period you paid for ends, and nothing is charged or refunded for the rest of that period. Moving to Free cancels your renewal, and you keep your plan until the period ends. You can undo a change that has not started yet. We email a confirmation of every change.

Refunding an upgrade. An upgrade charge (the difference you pay to move from Plus to Pro) is refunded in full within 7 days of the charge with Request refund in Billing History. That refund does not end your plan. It returns you to the plan you had before, for the time you already paid for, and removes the unused credits the upgrade added. If the upgrade also switched your billing between monthly and yearly and your plan has already renewed on the new billing, you stay on that billing at the Plus price. If your plan renewed at the Pro price since the upgrade, we also refund the part of that renewal that paid for Pro above the Plus price, including its sales tax. A refund of a first charge or a renewal still ends the plan right away. Canceling does not refund part of a period.

A plan bought during your free month. If you buy Plus or Pro during your free month of Plus, nothing is charged until the free month ends (or, if you buy in its last two days, until the date shown when you pay). Your first payment is on that date, and it is the plan's first charge, refundable in full within 7 days of it. You can cancel online before then, and you are not charged at all.

If you buy a plan during your free month, we email you 3 days before your first payment. You can also choose Free under Change your plan on your plan page.

Member prices. A refund returns what you paid, so a pack or upgrade bought at a member price is refunded at the member price.

Changed September 29, 2026. On September 29, 2026, we changed one sentence in this version and added another, when we began emailing yearly members 40 days before a renewal in place of 30 days, and monthly members before the renewal after each anniversary. The change only adds to your rights and applies from that day. Here are the two sentences as they read now. The rest of the page under this box is the version as published.

We email you a reminder before each renewal charge: 3 days before a monthly renewal, and both 40 days and 7 days before a yearly renewal. On a monthly plan we also email you 25 to 40 days before the renewal that falls on or after each anniversary of the day you started.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: September 17, 2026. We changed this version on September 29, September 30, October 2, October 11, October 12 and October 15, 2026, and the boxes at the top of this page show each change.

The short version. A report such as Essentials or Full is delivered the moment you pay, so you consent at checkout to immediate delivery. You then have a 7-day guarantee: if you have not opened a section after the first and have not downloaded the PDF, click Request a refund on your account page and the refund is made on the spot. One report refund per account. If something in a report is wrong, tell us: we fix it, and where we cannot, we refund it in full or credit it, your choice (section 2). A plan's first charge is refundable within 7 days, a renewal within 48 hours if you have not used the plan since it renewed; otherwise cancel any time and keep access to the end of the period. Purchases made before the date at the top of this page keep the policy they were bought under.

Bought before the date at the top of this page

A purchase keeps the refund windows of the policy it was sold under. A report or plan charge bought from September 13, 2026 until the date at the top of this page keeps the windows that applied then (14 days for a report or a yearly plan charge, 7 days for a monthly plan charge, and the 14-day rule for unassigned team seats), with the same buttons on your account page. Everything bought before September 13, 2026 gets these longer windows:

  • Reports and other one-time purchases: a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
  • Monthly plan charges: a full refund within 30 days of the charge.
  • Yearly plan charges: a full refund within 30 days of the charge. From day 31 to day 90, a refund for the unused months, where the month you are in counts as used.
  • The 15-seat team package: a full refund within 30 days of payment, whether you paid by card or by invoice. From day 31 to day 90, a refund of half the price, and your team keeps its access with no expiry.
  • After those windows: no refund.
  • A plan started before September 13, 2026 keeps these windows for its later renewal charges too.
  • A refunded plan charge ends the plan right away. A full team refund closes the team and releases its seats.

1. One-time purchases: the 7-day guarantee

The Essentials report ($19.95), the Full Profile ($29.95), the $10 upgrade from Essentials to Full, and team seats (priced in bands by seat count, with no expiry) are one-time purchases. Team seats have their own rules under Team seats. The rules in sections 1 to 9 apply to purchases made from the date at the top of this page.

Delivery starts when you pay. A report is generated and opened for you the moment your payment goes through. Before you pay, checkout asks you to tick a box that says delivery starts at once and states the conditions of the 7-day guarantee below, including once per account; if you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, ticking it is your express consent to immediate supply of digital content and your acknowledgment that you lose the 14-day right to withdraw once supply begins. The receipt repeats the sentence you ticked.

  • Within 7 days of purchase, while you have not opened any section of the report after the first one (your account page lists what you have opened) and have not downloaded its PDF: open your account page, find the purchase under Your purchases, and click Request a refund. The refund is made on the spot, in full.
  • Once per account. The guarantee is for the person who bought the wrong thing, so it can be used once per account. A refunded account can buy again; a second report refund is outside the guarantee. A request outside the guarantee is still reviewed, with what you used shown, and answered within a day with credit, a refund, or an explanation; a report with something wrong in it is handled under section 2.
  • After 7 days, or after you have opened a later section or downloaded the PDF: the purchase is final and the button is gone; your account page shows why (the date the window closed, or what you opened). Section 2 covers a report with something wrong in it.
  • When a report is refunded, the access it opened ends right away, and the AI credits it added are taken back, up to the credits left on your account. If another report you still hold opens the same access, that access stays open.
  • We email you a refund receipt the moment the refund is made.

2. Something wrong with a report

The guarantee is for changing your mind. A report with something wrong in it is a different case and has no time limit while you hold the report. Wrong means an error in your report: a section that did not render, a page that is missing or blank, a PDF that will not open, text that describes another type than the one you were scored as, or a scoring result you can show is wrong.

  • Email hello@wiredtype.com with the page or section and what you see, or use the feedback button on the report. Your request is reviewed, with what you used shown, and answered within a day with a fix, credit, a refund, or an explanation.
  • We fix the report where we can, and the fixed edition arrives at no charge. Where we cannot fix it, we refund the purchase in full, or, if you prefer, apply the price as credit toward another edition or a bundle.
  • A report that reads as a poor fit for you is a question for the science page and the retake, and for the guarantee in section 1 while it is open; it is not a defect.

3. Monthly subscriptions

  • You can cancel at any time from your account page.
  • Access continues to the end of the billing period you have paid for. The plan's monthly AI credits end when that period ends. AI credits that did not come from the plan stay on your account.
  • Canceling stops future charges. It does not refund the current month on its own. The first charge of a plan can be refunded in full within 7 days of the charge with Request refund in Billing History on your account page. A renewal charge can be refunded within 48 hours of the renewal if you have not used the plan since it renewed (no coach message sent and no credit spent). Either refund ends the plan right away. Outside those windows a charge is not refunded: cancel, and keep access to the end of the period, with no proration. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may also withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of starting it, paying only for the days used.
  • Your results and your account stay in place after you cancel, so you can come back at any time.

4. Yearly subscriptions

  • The first charge: a full refund within 7 days with Request refund in Billing History. A renewal: a full refund within 48 hours of the renewal if you have not used the plan since it renewed. Either refund ends the plan right away.
  • After those windows: no refund and no proration; access continues to the end of the year you paid for. Cancel before the renewal date so the plan does not renew.

5. Team seats (one-time, in bands)

  • Inside 14 days of payment, only unassigned seats are refunded (seats with no member and no pending invitation), at the price of the last seat positions you paid for. To refund a seat you have already invited someone to, cancel that invitation first. Open Your purchases on your account page and click Request a refund.
  • Accepted seats are not refunded. Your team stays open with the seats it keeps.
  • After 14 days of payment, seats are not refunded.
  • One payment. Seats do not expire and nothing renews.

The 15-seat team package sold before September 13, 2026 also has no expiry. It keeps the refund rules in the separate section above. A team package paid by invoice before September 13, 2026 keeps its own rules.

6. "I did not expect that charge"

If you see a charge you did not expect, sign in and open your account page. Every purchase and plan charge on your account is listed there with its Stripe receipt, and with a refund button while it is inside its refund window. The rules on this page decide the request the moment you send it. Your card statement shows our charges as WIREDTYPE or WELLERDEVELER.

If you have no WiredType account and do not recognize the charge, your bank can reverse it. If a chargeback is opened on a purchase, the access that charge paid for is removed.

7. Auto-renewal

  • We email you a reminder before each renewal charge: 3 days before a monthly renewal, and both 30 days and 7 days before a yearly renewal.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account page, without calling or chatting with anyone.
  • A renewal charge is refunded in full within 48 hours of the renewal if you have not used the plan since it renewed; the first charge of a plan within 7 days. The refund ends the plan right away.
  • The receipt we email after a purchase links to this policy.

8. How to cancel

  • Sign in to wiredtype.com, open your account page, and find the Subscription section. Tap Cancel subscription, then Yes, cancel to confirm.
  • You can also click Manage billing in the same section and cancel in Stripe's billing portal.
  • We email a confirmation with the date your access ends. Until that date, Undo cancellation on your account page keeps the plan going.

9. How to request a refund

  • One-time purchases: on your account page, find the purchase under Your purchases and click Request a refund. The page asks for the reason in one line and shows you what you have opened. A report bought within the last 7 days, with no section after the first opened and no PDF downloaded, on an account with no earlier report refund, is refunded on the spot. Otherwise the button is gone and the page shows why (the date the window closed, what you opened, or the earlier refund), and section 2 remains open for a report with something wrong in it.
  • Plan charges: open Billing History on the same page and click Request refund next to the charge. A first plan charge from the last 7 days, or a renewal from the last 48 hours with no use since it renewed, is refunded on the spot, and the plan ends right away. Any other charge is not refunded, and the page tells you why.
  • Every request is decided by these rules the moment you send it. You see the result on screen, and we email it to you.
  • Canceling without a refund keeps your access until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Stripe returns approved refunds to the card you paid with. Most banks show them within 5 to 10 business days.

10. Your rights

  • To get a copy of your data, use Download my data on your account page. To delete your account, use Delete my account in the same section. Deleting your account does not refund a purchase. If a purchase is still inside its refund window, request the refund on the account page before you delete.
