How this type works with each style
Written to you as the Si. If you are the other person in the pair, read your own style's section for what this type needs from you.
DSi and D (Dominance)
A D-type pairing asks you to speak sooner than feels natural. A D-type moves fast and speaks bluntly, and the pace can rattle you. They decide before you have finished weighing the options. Their feedback skips the softening you rely on, so it can sting. What they offer is clarity: a D-type will tell you exactly where you stand, which saves you the guessing that quietly wears you out.
What this type can say: “I need a little time to process this before I respond. Can I come back to you by tomorrow with my honest thoughts? I want to give you my real reaction. My first one is the polite one.”
ISi and I (Influence)
This pairing often comes easily to you. You share a focus on people and a real interest in how others are doing. The difference is pace: I-types jump into new ideas quickly, while you keep a steady rhythm and finish what you start. Together you build a team people enjoy being part of. They get people excited, and you make sure everyone feels included.
What this type can say: “I love your energy on this, and I want to make sure we can deliver on it. Can we map out the steps so I feel confident we are not overpromising?”
SSi and S (Steadiness)
With another S-type, work feels comfortable fast, and neither of you likes to push. You understand each other easily, which helps the work and also lets problems sit. A disagreement you both need can wait for months. The question is whether that comfort is enough, or whether you both need some honest friction to do your best work.
What this type can say: “Can we each name one thing about this project that worries us? I will go first: I am not sure the timeline works.”
CSi and C (Conscientiousness)
You and a C-type both work at a measured pace, and you spend that time on different things. In a meeting, they are reviewing the spreadsheet while you are reading the room. What you each watch for in the room is different. Even so, the combination works well: their precision ensures the work is right, and your warmth keeps the team together while doing it.
What this type can say: “I appreciate the detail in your analysis. I also want to make sure the team feels good about the direction. Can we talk about how to present this in a way that brings people along?”
