How this type works with each style

Written to you as the IpC. If you are the other person in the pair, read your own style's section for what this type needs from you.

DIpC and D (Dominance)

You fascinate and frustrate each other in equal measure. The D-type is drawn to your energy and your ability to win people over, but baffled by your need to verify everything before moving. You are drawn to their decisiveness but alarmed by their willingness to ship before the data is solid. When it works, you bring the coalition and the credibility while they bring the speed. When it fails, they see you as a bottleneck and you see them as reckless.

What this type can say: “I am on the same page as you about the direction. Give me two hours to make the numbers solid and I will come back with something we can both stand behind publicly.”

IIpC and I (Influence)

You share the social style and can spend hours in energizing conversation. But you hear something they do not: the analytical voice that asks 'but is it true?' They see you as a kindred spirit with a surprising perfectionistic streak. You see them as a creative partner who sometimes needs a fact-check before they go public. The dynamic is warm and productive when you frame your corrections as enhancements, so they never land as criticism.

What this type can say: “I love where this is going. Let me take it and layer in the data so it is solid by the time we present it. You bring the energy, I will bring the receipts.”

SIpC and S (Steadiness)

The S-type finds your warmth reassuring and your energy sometimes overwhelming. They appreciate your thoroughness because it signals reliability, but your pace can feel frantic to someone who values predictability. You enjoy their steadiness because it gives you a stable foundation while you oscillate between creative bursts and analytical deep dives. The relationship works when you modulate your intensity around them.

What this type can say: “I know I can be unpredictable. If I go quiet, it does not mean anything has changed between us. I am just in analytical mode and I will resurface. You can always check in, and I will always be honest about where I am.”

CIpC and C (Conscientiousness)

You share an analytical approach, which creates immediate mutual respect for each other's thoroughness. You also bring social warmth and presentation skill to your shared work. They may find your enthusiasm somewhat excessive, and you may find their communication style somewhat dry. The partnership is enormously productive because you can translate their rigorous work into something that influences people, while they keep your enthusiasm grounded in real data.

What this type can say: “Your analysis is excellent. Let me build the presentation layer around it so the audience absorbs it. I will not change a single number. I will just give the numbers a story to live in.”
