How this type works with each style
Written to you as the Ci. If you are the other person in the pair, read your own style's section for what this type needs from you.
DCi and D (Dominance)
A D-type usually wants your answer first and your method only if they ask. This can be a hard adjustment for you under pressure, because you see the method as part of what makes the answer trustworthy. The D-type judges your answer by whether it is right and whether they can act on it today. Your outgoing side helps here: you can read that the D-type is losing patience and shift to the bottom line sooner than a pure C-type usually does.
What this type can say: “I have a recommendation: we should go with Option B. The data strongly supports it. I have the full analysis if you want it, but the bottom line is clear.”
ICi and I (Influence)
You and an I-type both care how an idea lands with people, and you get there in different ways. They lead with enthusiasm and the energy of the room. You lead with evidence and exact wording. The pairing works well when you treat their excitement as the way your findings reach people, and your checking as the support their enthusiasm needs.
What this type can say: “I love the energy you are bringing to this. Let me add the numbers that answer the first questions people will ask. If we put your story and my data together, we can handle the pushback.”
SCi and S (Steadiness)
An S-type often works well with you over the long run. Your careful plans give them the predictability they value. In return, they notice the practical snags in a plan that you missed. The risk is that neither of you likes confrontation, so a problem can sit for weeks while you study the data and they stay quiet.
What this type can say: “I wanted to share this analysis with you before the larger meeting so you have time to review it. Your perspective on the operational implications would make this stronger. Take a look and let me know your thoughts when you are ready.”
CCi and C (Conscientiousness)
Another high C reads your full report and checks your method line by line. You share the analytical rigor and the quality standards. Your Influence score sets you apart: you want the work in front of an audience, so you are usually the one who says 'This is good enough to share.'
What this type can say: “Your analysis on this is careful and clear. I would like to present it to the leadership team with full attribution. Would you be comfortable if I adapted the framing for a non-technical audience while keeping your methodology intact?”
